IMPACT

COMMUNITY IMPACT

WHOOP DEE DOO productions initiate lasting connections within communities, creating an environment where participants can step outside their own creative practice and work together in new ways. We create an inclusive and participatory experience by centering our outreach around first time art makers and viewers.

YOUTH IMPACT

WHOOP DEE DOO connects with youth groups to be fully involved members of the creative team. Youth collaborators see the direct influence of their ideas, skills, and interests in every show, and establish professional connections with a robust network of peers and professional artists.

ENDORSEMENTS

โ€œWHOOP DEE DOOโ€™s truly inclusive approach to performance art does the necessary work of expanding the cultural field to include our neighbors, friends, and peers.โ€
Jodi Waynberg, Director, Artists Alliance Inc., New York, NY

โ€œWHOOP DEE DOO has tremendously influenced a new generation of talented individuals. Participating in this program has inspired our youth to push their artistic ideas to the limits.โ€
Jamon Tyus, Cross Programs Art Specialist, Galileo Academy Futurama Program, San Francisco, CA

โ€œAs a Youth Development Specialist, I saw the learning experience these girls took part in was one not at all available in a traditional classroom or session. WHOOP DEE DOO was led by a team of compassionate humans who were extremely thoughtful to their individual feelings and wishes, with a great sensitivity to their learning process. The girls came out of their shells and expressed themselves in a whole new way- with so much more depth and meaning to what they were creating, seeing real value in their artistic ideas.โ€
Miss Candace, Urgent, Inc. Rites of Passage Instructor, Miami, FL

โ€œWorking with WHOOP DEE DOO showed me how to be softer on myself while still hustling harder. During my work with WHOOP DEE DOO I got to see myself grow and heal through art making and being surrounded by youth and artists. I was given the opportunity to try so many new things from costume making to taking up as much space as I could on stage with my voice and body. I got to connect back to myself as an actor to show myself my full potential and everything I am capable of as an artist. It really boosted my confidence. On top of that I had a really good support system. I felt very admired and loved and heard the way my ideas and art impacted the finished product of the show.โ€
